    Distinguished Scholarship Invitational

    The Distinguished Scholarship Invitational at Wichita State is one of the area’s most prominent scholarship competitions, including the $64,000 Harry Gore Memorial Scholarships.

    High school seniors eligible for DSI are invited to attend the DSI Prep Workshop on Oct. 23!     If you're a Wichita-area student, stop by the Marcus Welcome Center on campus, or if you're from outside the area, we'd love to speak with you via Zoom. 

    Come to campus or get on Zoom when it works for you anytime from 4 to 6 p.m. CST. 

    At the DSI Prep Workshop, the Admissions team will be prepared to answer questions like: 
    • What type of activities should I list on my activities chart? 
    • Do my essays need to be single-spaced or double-spaced? 
    • What are the reviewers looking for in the essays? 
    • How do I make my application stand out in all of the applications submitted?

    To be eligible to compete in DSI, you must:

    1. Be a 2026 high school graduate
    2. Submit Wichita State admission application materials by Nov. 1, 2025
    3. Meet ONE of the following criteria:
      • Have a minimum unweighted 3.5 GPA, or
      • Have a minimum ACT composite score of 27, or
      • Have a minimum SAT composite of 1260, or
      • Rank in the top 10 percent of your class at the end of your junior year
