The Office of Admissions needs your help with the Distinguished Scholarship Invitational (DSI). Your participation will help us identify high academic achievers with leadership potential. Through DSI, multiple large scholarships to attend Wichita State are awarded:

• Richard D. Smith Scholarship - $80,000
• Harry Gore Memorial Scholarships - Three $64,000
• Mike & Mary James Scholarship - $40,000
• Mark & Stacy Parkinson Scholarship - $34,000

We will host two on-campus sessions on Nov 21, 2026. Part of the competition includes exercises that give students an opportunity to demonstrate their leadership abilities. These exercises will involve about 10-12 student participants and three observers. Your role would be to evaluate the students’ leadership performance. You are welcome to volunteer for one or both sessions. Observers will receive a small gift.

Morning Session

7:30 to 10:50 a.m.
Observer training will be from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. followed by the DSI Saturday Morning Session from 8:30 to 10:50 a.m.
